Date: 27th February 2006
Place: One of the music rooms at Kirkwall Grammar School, Orkney. Very glamorous!
When did you form the band?
Collin: I formed it about a year ago, but then we got rid of some of the members and evolved it. I think this is the best thing, having it as a three piece.
How did you come up with the name Audio Narcosis?
Gordon: I was on the Hamnavoe, and I saw a boat with some scuba divers. The official name of a condition is nitrogen narcosis, and I thought it sounded pretty cool, so I changed it to Audio.
How long did it take to write the album?
Collin: About... half a year?
Who writes the music?
Both: All of us.
Collin: Yeah, we all write individual parts.
What inspired you to start writing?
Collin: We didn't want to just do covers, and we had ideas.
Gordon: It's just what I've always wanted to do.
Collin: Yeah, and we had inspiration.
How come you got so into politics? (apart from Rage Against The Machine!)
Collin: Basically, I hate the government. [laughs] No, don't say that. I've always been interested in world affairs... current affairs. I've always been aware of that sort of thing.
Gordon: The government's stupid, they say things just to get voted for, but then they do something else.
How long have you been playing your respective instruments?
Collin: About... over three years. Scott's been playing drums for about one and a half.
Gordon: Yeah, I've been playing just over three years.
How long did it take to record the album?
Collin: Nine hours? Yeah, about that.
What are your favourite Audio Narcosis songs?
Collin: Ooh. All the heavy ones, because they're awesome to play. Probably Telepathy and Nuclear Holocaust, they're amazing.
Do you have a website for more info?
Gordon: No, not yet. I'm going to make one some time.
