Hey up. You've just finished your album and it's going to be released soon. How pleased are you with it?
Very.
What would you say the best track is?
Minority Of 1, Hurt or Roses.
You've remixed a few of the songs - why is that?
To make them better and in the case of Chemical Girlfriend which we put out as a download single, something different so the JP audience can hear the song from another perspective.
Where does the inspiration for writing the songs come from?
Life. The album is a journey into crime, punishment, hope and despair via fucking great songs.
Who writes most of the songs? Or is it just a general joint effort?
Joint effort it is, I sow the seed but we all water and feed it.
Who inspired you to pick up guitar and how old were you when you started playing?
Manic Street Preachers, The Clash, The Specials, Sex Pistols. 16.
When did you think seriously about playing in a band as a career?
16.
How did you meet the other three?
Jonny I met on a bus, Nash through Jonny and Matt in a pub in Sidcup!
What has been your best gig so far?
The next one.
What have you got planned after the album release?
Tour.
Any festivals in the summer?
If they'll have us. But they'd be fools not to.
Just to end on a random question - the cartoons on the official biography page are great. Who drew them?
Andy Stubbs, the guy who designs and runs johnnypanic.com. He used to be in the band with us and is our greatest friend.
